A pun can be thought of as a joke, many times they are "corny" but they do help the literature. One very popular, and very famous book that uses word play is Huckleberry Finn. The author, Mark Twain, uses satire to make fun of and play with the characters in the story. Lewis Carroll to me, is a very interesting author, he kept me interested throughout the entire book.
